Everything you need to know about the return of Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo

Wild Lights quickly became one of the most adored Christmas events to happen in the city and is set to return bigger and better than ever in 2021.

It will open to the public on Thursday, October 28 until Sunday, January 9 2022 with the theme 'Around the World' promising visitors a sensational sense of adventure.

From Spain to India to Morocco to the USA, those heading along to this year's edition of Wild Lights can expect to be transported to various corners of the world. Amongst the immersive and Insta-worthy light installations and designs will be the ancient Egyptian pyramids, the romance of the Eiffel Tower, colourful silk lanterns and much more.

Additionally, Wild Lights will extend into the African Plains for the very first time.

Director of Dublin Zoo Dr Christoph Schwitzer explains, "We are delighted to announce the return of the award-winning Wild Lights to Dublin Zoo for 2021. It’s incredibly exciting to welcome visitors back to experience a brand-new theme, where they can explore some of the world’s most spectacular landmarks."

For the month of November, Wild Lights will be open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening from 5pm until 10pm. From December 1 right up until January 9, opening times will be extended to 4pm until 9pm, seven days a week (excluding Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and St Stephen’s Day).

Admission will cost €22 for adults and €18 for children, while Annual Pass holders can avail of a special rate of €20 for adults and €16 for children. Meanwhile, children under the age of three years can enter for free but pre-booking is still required.

To ensure Covid-19 safety, Wild Lights will consist of a one-way walking system and there will be staggered arrival times for visitors. There will also be hand sanitiser available along the trail and visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings where social distancing might be difficult.

Tickets for Wild Lights go on sale at 11am on Thursday September 23rd at www.DublinZoo.ie.
