Everything you need to know about the brand new BS3 Jamboree

Bedminster is known for its strong community spirit and this weekend weekend it will be celebrated in style with a brand new event.

The BS3 Jamboree will take over North Street on Saturday for a jam-packed day of fun, with plenty going on to entertain people of all ages.

Free to attend, the family-friendly shindig is being organised by Bedminster BID and popular pub The Old Bookshop, with live music and delicious street food taking over the lower section of the road from 11am till 5pm.

The free day will boast an outdoor music stage hosted by the Bristol International Jazz & Blues Festival with live performances from the Jonny Bruce Band, Los Gusanos, The Will Edmunds Blues Band & James Morton and Friends.

An exuberant and versatile trumpet maestro, Jonny Bruce emerged on the UK jazz scene as part of the Dave Stapleton Quintet. Los Gusanos meanwhile will bringing their Latin vibes to Bedminster with a typically lively and energetic performance.

The Will Edmunds Blues Band will bring their high energy blues funk vibes while Bristol legend James Morton will be on hand to wow the crowds with his smooth and silky saxophone sound.

The BS3 Jamboree will also feature some of the area’s best restaurants and street food vendors, as well as a full programme of family friendly entertainment including workshops, performances, talks and games.

Andy Stuart, operations manager at The Old Bookshop and coordinator of the BS3 Jamboree, said: “We wanted to create a fun, family event that truly represents the incredible spirit in Bedminster.

"We’ll have great music, food and entertainment for the whole family and invite all of Bristol to come down and see what an amazing place south Bristol is on 22 June.”
