Everything you need to know about Beaverbrooks’ diamond-a-day advent calendar

Every year retailers dream up bigger and better ways to stun us with their advent calendar offering. From beauty hauls worth hundreds to waking up to the prospect of gourmet chocolate every day until December 25, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to our Christmas countdown.

However every once in a while, we come across something that truly makes our jaws drop.

In this case, it’s this dazzlingly unique calendar from luxe jewellers Beaverbrooks.

Their 25-window creation will allow its lucky recipient to literally sparkle every day until Christmas, because nestled inside each blue and white drawer lies a piece of jewellery studded with…*drumroll please*... REAL DIAMONDS.

By far the most luxe thing in any of our 2019 advent calendar roundups, the diamond-a-day edit has come about to mark Beaverbrooks' 100th anniversary.

Celebrate the company's centenary with a selection of fine jewels including diamond encrusted pieces from high end brands such as Gucci, Omega and TAG Heuer.

Also amongst the stunning selection is the Once Platinum Diamond Solitaire Ring worth - are you sitting down? - £26,000, as well as 18ct White Gold and Rose Gold Diamond Earrings (£4,250) from the Beaverbrooks’ Beyond Brilliance collection. These earrings feature the company's exclusive 100 facet diamond, which is twice as flashy as your more typical 57 facet diamond.

Of course, this level of opulence does come at a cost - £100,000 to be precise – putting it firmly in the bracket of millionaires and newly minted lottery winners with cash to splash. However, as with all products of this ilk, the cost of the calendar is less than the contents’ actual worth as purchasing the jewels separately would cost £23,000 more. So in a sense, it is rather good value for money.

What's inside Beaverbrooks' £100,000 diamond advent calendar?

Lorna Haddon, head of diamonds and jewellery at Beaverbrook and creator of the calendar, explains that every piece has been "hand-selected to ensure the utmost beauty and sparkle in every drawer."

"We’ve been a part of our customers’ treasured Christmas memories for a century, helping them choose the most meaningful gifts for their loved ones." She continues: "Never mind chocolate, this really is the dream advent calendar for diamond and jewellery lovers!”

Our verdict? Advents may just be for Christmas, but diamonds are forever.
