Everything we know so far in the reported Draymond Green, Jordan Poole Warriors altercation

Just because you win an NBA championship doesn’t mean all is happy in the pursuit of another one.

That might be the case with the Golden State Warriors.

On Wednesday night, reports said that there was an altercation at practice ahead of the 2022-23 season starting later this month. This one involved Draymond Green and breakout star Jordan Poole, and there are some wrinkles to it that may have led to what went down.

Things got heated at Warriors practice

From The Athletic:

When a heated interaction with guard Jordan Poole escalated, Green forcefully struck Poole and needed to be separated swiftly, sources said. Green and Poole came chest-to-chest, with both players pushing and shoving each other prior to Green’s escalation of the physical altercation, those sources said. …

Poole and Green are known to regularly get into verbal arguments, but the team’s management and leadership believes a line was crossed.

There might be discipline coming for Green

Green was apparently "apologetic" ... but there might be something going on with Poole that teammates aren't happy about

The contract stuff extends to Green, too

As Yahoo’s Vincent Goodwill noted:

Both Poole and Green are up for contract extensions, and it appears Poole will receive an extension while Green knows he has to play this season out — playing a part in leading to Green striking Poole, sources said. The Athletic first reported the altercation and the Warriors are considering disciplinary action against Green.
