An investigation is under way after an alleged shooting incident in Newcastle.
Police were called to the Benfield Road area on Sunday morning following reports of an altercation between four males.
Officers remain at the scene guarding a cordon at the scene of the incident on Tuesday.
One man has been arrested in connection and remains in police custody.

What happened?
At around 8am on Sunday, police received a report that two men had been threatened near Walkergate Metro Station.
It was reported that the victims were approached by two men who got out of a vehicle, one of whom was known to them.
They then had a "verbal altercation" before one of the men in the vehicle removed a reported firearm and discharged it near to the victims.
The two men then got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.
Was anyone hurt?
Northumbria Police confirmed that thankfully, no one was injured during this incident.
Has there been any arrests?
Police have arrested one 48-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a firearm with the intent to endanger life shortly after 9pm on Monday evening.
He remains in custody and is being interviewed by detectives in connection with the incident.
What is happening now?
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and a cordon remains in place on Benfield Road stretching to part of the A193 Shields Road.
Officers are on scene guarding the cordon while investigations continue.
The man arrested has yet to be charged with an offence and no other arrests have been made at this time.
