Everything we know so far about the jewelry stolen from Colorado’s locker room

After a sizzling start to the college football season, things have been trending the wrong way for Colorado.

The Buffaloes stink right now. The team is 4-4 now after its most recent loss to UCLA and has lost four of their last five games. This certainly isn’t the position they wanted to be in at this point in the year.

That’s not too big of a deal, though. It’s just football. You win some, you lose some. That’s easy to deal with.

What’s not so easy — and what seems to have Deion Sanders understandably upset — is the fact that his player’s belongings were reportedly stolen from the locker room while the team played against UCLA.

Now Deion Sanders is trying to find a way to reimburse his players for the damage done. And he wants the Rose Bowl to do it.

Wait, what happened?

On Saturday after Colorado’s game against UCLA, players returned from the field to the locker room to find personal items — including thousands of dollars worth of jewelry — stolen.

Deion Sanders Jr.’s Well Off Media company captured the player’s reactions after it happened.

The entire video can be seen on the company’s YouTube page around the 41-minute mark of the video.

YO. That's wild. Is anyone doing anything about this?

We don’t know exactly what was stolen at this point, but what we do know is that police have opened an investigation on the incident and are treating it as a burglary, according to ESPN’s Paolo Uggetti.

“The UCLA athletic department confirmed, in a statement, that a report was filed to the Pasadena Police Department following the game regarding items that were reportedly missing from the Buffaloes’ locker room.”

This is something that is clearly being taken very seriously.

What is Colorado doing about this?

Of course, Deion Sanders is putting the pressure on. He talked about the incident to reporters on Tuesday and called out the Rose Bowl. He wants the Rose Bowl to reimburse players on the things that were taken from them.

Sanders also dropped an incredible quote on us, as he tends to do. He called the Rose Bowl the “granddaddy of them all”, referencing the Rose Bowl Game’s iconic nickname.

And he’s right — the Rose Bowl has money.

“All that stuff should be replaced. This is the Rose Bowl. They say the Granddaddy of them all, right? I’m sure Granddaddy has some money. Grandpa should have some money to give these kids.”

That man means business.

Will the Rose Bowl actually do that?

That’s unclear to this point. We did get a statement from UCLA — who doesn’t actually own the Rose Bowl — on the incident, though.

“The UCLA Athletic Department confirmed that a report was filed to the Pasadena Police Department following the UCLA-Colorado football game regarding items that were reportedly missing from the Colorado locker room. UCLA is in communication with law enforcement, Rose Bowl Stadium officials and the University of Colorado on the matter.”

There hasn’t been anything since this. Hopefully, though, there’s a resolution that comes soon.
