More details and drawings have been released for a new housing estate set to be built north of Bristol.
Developers secured councillors' approval in 2018 to build the 1,000-home estate on fields in Cribbs Causeway, despite existing residents raising concerns about increased traffic.
The outline plan was officially granted in January 2021, according to South Gloucestershire Council records, and a more detailed 'reserved matters' application is now being prepared for the first cluster of homes.
House builders Taylor Wimpey, Deeley Freed and Bellway have now submitted a joint 'design code' to the authority, with more information and images of their vision.
They have named the development 'Berwick Green' and hope to begin construction later this year.
Design documents state: "The overall objective is to create a legible and varied new neighbourhood with a strong identity that responds positively to the site and its setting."
The main plot of land is bordered by the M5 motorway, Berwick Drive and A4018 Cribbs Causeway, opposite the row of car dealerships.
A smaller triangular-shaped parcel between the railway line, Station Road and A4018 is also set for development.
Berwick Green will eventually include a care home, primary school, a community centre with food shop, public open space, and facilities including an improved pitch for Saracens Rugby Club.
One quarter of the homes, 25 per cent, will be designated as affordable.
They will range in height from two to four storeys, with a mix of apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses.
There will be a 'woodland ridge' separating the homes on the northern edge of the plot from the motorway, as well as street tree planting elsewhere on the development.
The design documents add: "The Central Green will form the landscaped heart of the new community."
"Community allotments will be provided within the public open space providing opportunities for the production of domestic food crops at four sites distributed across the development."
The plans date back to 2014 and were originally approved in 2015, but had to be revised due to an oil pipeline that could not be moved.
Originally there had also been plans for a GP surgery, but this provision for a new health centre will instead be at the huge Brabazon neighbourhood under construction at Filton Airfield.
Taylor Wimpey Bristol and Bellway South West plan to submit a reserved matters planning application in the coming weeks, to deliver up to 380 new homes each on their share of the site.
John Vowles, land director at the latter, said: "The completion of this, the biggest land purchase in our history, underlines our commitment to delivering much-needed high-quality housing in South Gloucestershire.
"The Cribbs Causeway development is an extremely ambitious project which provides an opportunity to create a distinctive new neighbourhood in a sustainable location just six miles from the centre of Bristol, and we are proud to be at the forefront of the scheme."
The developers have agreed to contribute more than £12.5m towards improving services, highway works and education in the community.
