Everything we know about GACP Sports - the company who has teamed up with Peter Kenyon

GACP Sports are the firm reportedly helping Peter Kenyon in his attempt to buy Newcastle United.

The former Manchester United CEO is believed to be trying to negotiate the purchase of the Magpies - just months after his first attempted failed.

Many North East journalists were given a brochure which sold the Magpies as a perfect investment opportunity - with GACP leading the way.

Here's the lowdown on the company.

They have a clear aim of what they want to achieve but over time, and with sensible investment

GACP Sports is subsidiary of GACP LLC - which focuses on making investments into companies and making them successful.

Based in Florida, the GACP headed to Europe and took control of Ligue One side Bordeaux last year with the aim of helping the club 'reach it's potential'.

The side reached the semi-finals of the League Cup, and have started the 2019-20 season is good form - losing only one out of the first seven games.

They spent less £10m on player signings - former Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny one the deals - and that hints at the the approach they will take.

There is no big money pot, it's about sensible investment.

The company's bio highlights that their focus is on 'making control and influential minority investments' in firms which 'benefit from favorable industry dynamics over the medium to long term'.

Speaking last year, Joe DaGrosa, the CEO and co-founder of General American Capital Partners LLC (GACP) noted his ability to pick out investments and make them a sucecss.

"Over the past three decades as an investor specializing in restructuring, I've made a career of identifying untapped opportunities that are on the brink of a tipping point, which for us at GACP Sports meant soccer from day one," he said.

The firm also own football networking firm Soccerex.
