There’s only one thing better than a big, glitzy awards night like the 2025 MTV VMAs — the afterparty. It’s the guiding light at the end of the tunnel when the ceremony goes a tad too long. Despite the incredible performances, I bet the celebrities were itching to swap into a new outfit and let loose without the prying eyes of a live broadcast.
While the VMAs afterparties weren’t broadcast, thankfully, snippets of gossip and photos from the exclusive events have found their way online so we can get a teeny-tiny glimpse of what went down.
Behold, all the tea we’ve sniffed out like gossip-hungry truffle piggies.
Sabrina Carpenter is the hottest hostess in town
After the VMAs, a bunch of afterparties kicked off, but the main one was held at the Crane Club in Chelsea, New York and hosted by none other than three-time VMA winner, Sabrina Carpenter, for a Studio 54-inspired bash aptly named Sabrina54.
The Man’s Best Friend singer looked drop-dead gorgeous in the vintage Bob Mackie bodysuit look once worn by Cher.
The event was DJed by Kaytranada and was attended by the likes of Rosalía, Rosé, Sombr and FKA Twigs, who turned some pretty showstopping looks to boogie the night away.
The Kid Laroi & Katseye’s Manon sparks dating rumours
Back in July, The Kid Laroi confirmed that he and Tate McRae had broken up. Now, two months later, the Aussie star has seemingly sparked dating rumours with Katseye’s Manon Bannerman after the pair rocked up to the afterparty together.
While fans were quick to assume that the pair were dating, in another video posted to X (formerly Twitter), the two didn’t touch or acknowledge each other’s existence. Either they were playing extra cool, trying to keep a tryst under wraps, or there genuinely is nothing going on between them.

I don’t blame them for keeping things under wraps. After all, Tate was in attendance at the afterparty after winning two VMAs and executing a VMAs performance that will go down in history.
Something tells me two months is a bit too soon to be engaging in any funny business in front of your ex and your colleagues in the music industry.
However, according to Pop Tingz, The Kid Laroi and Manon were spotted leaving together, too. So, I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Cardi B’s afterparty
While Sabrina’s afterparty was going hard at Crane Club, elsewhere in New York, Cardi B was hosting her own exclusive event.

She had a heap of stars in attendance, including Jamie Foxx, Lupita Nyong’o and Lenny Kravitz.

Mariah Carey hosts the official MTV VMAs afterparty
After being honoured with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at the 2025 VMAs, Mariah Carey hosted another afterparty.
Clips of the event were posted on Instagram by her friend DJ Suss One, who DJed the event. The party was also attended by producer and songwriter Jermaine Dupree, Sexyy Redd and Busta Rhymes.
