Everything That Went Down At Skrewball’s Après-Ski Mt Buller Event

Everything That Went Down At Skrewball’s Après-Ski Mt Buller Event

So, here’s the deal. I am not what you’d call a snow person. Tropical beaches? Yes. Thirty layers of thermals and waddling around like a marshmallow? Absolutely not. But somehow, Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey convinced me to trade my heated blanket for snow last week at Mt Buller — and honestly, I’m so glad that I did.

Because Après Skrew? It was chaos. The fun kind. The kind with yum AF cocktails, tattoo stations, incredible food, and DJs casually blasting tracks off balconies to celebrate a day on the slopes.

Honestly, it made me forget for a hot second that I couldn’t actually ski. Here’s everything that went down.

Let me set the scene

Skrewball threw their own spin on après-ski at Mt Buller, taking place after hitting the slopes.

For four days, The Little Villager was buzzing with unexpected antics, from balcony DJs to interactive surprises and a whole lot of peanut butter whiskey.

Let’s just say, if you were after a standard winter weekend, this definitely wasn’t it.

I’m not being dramatic when I say I’m still thinking about the Hot Nutty Mess (salted Skrewball, espresso, warmed cream). It was like a cheeky hug in drink form.

Normally, I need about nine heat packs to survive the snow. This time? One Nutty Mess and I was basically making peace with the alpine lifestyle. Key word: basically.

Then there was the Entrecôte menu takeover, which I can only describe as edible heaven. The ultimate charcuterie board? Steak frites rolls? Burnt basque cheesecake that I’m still dreaming about? Yes, yes, and yes again.

Call me dramatic, but that cheesecake really felt life-changing.

A classic Skrewball twist

Of course, it wouldn’t have been a Skrewball event without a little mischief. Enter: The Misfit Oracle, a self-serve dare dispenser that spat out chaos.

Mine told me to make a snow angel. Spoiler: it was less ‘angelic wings’ and more ‘snow blob sliding down a hill’. Tragic, but memorable.

Then there were the flash tattoos — nostalgic temporary tats, if you will. They were honestly the best icebreaker. Nothing bonds strangers faster than trying to figure out how to stick a wonky snow-themed transfer to your arm without ripping it.

The DJs kept things moving, with sets spilling into the square, people dancing with mittens on, and strangers becoming new mates over sips of whiskey.

So, what’s the verdict?

Honestly? The standout for me wasn’t just the food or the drinks. It was the vibe. Everyone was there to have fun, chat, and laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

For someone who usually ducks out of ski trips in favour of a margarita in the tropics, that’s saying something. I didn’t even notice my fingers going numb.

Part of the magic of Après Skrew came from Skrewball’s Aussie & NZ ambassador, Sav Harrison, who was floating around all weekend hyping people up. She summed it up perfectly when I asked what she loves most about the brand.

“We’re not just a whiskey brand that you sit with at the end of a bar trying to be mysterious. You want to be out there. You want to have fun. You want to do something different — and that’s what Skrewball is about,” she said.

If you’re currently riddled with FOMO, don’t stress, as this wasn’t a one-and-done event. Skrewball is packing up its fuzzy jackets and heading to Manly on Saturday August 30 for round two.

Think après ski… but by the sea. Yep, beachside chaos is coming, and I, for one, am absolutely ready to get “skrewed” all over again. Grab your tix now.
