The government has announced the country's next step in easing the coronavirus lockdown.
However changes coming into force from tomorrow - August 15 - excludes areas in England where local restrictions are in place - including Greater Manchester.
It comes after the 'roadmap to recovery' was paused at the start of the month after the Office for National Statistics reported an increase in the number of people testing positive. This is now said to have levelled off.
While remaining business sectors will be permitted to reopen from this weekend in parts of the country, new enforcement measures are set to be introduced in the coming weeks which will apply to all residents in England.
Fines for repeatedly refusing to wear a mask where mandatory could soar to £3,200 and organisers of illegal raves could face a £10,000 penalty.
Here's everything that won't be allowed to resume in Greater Manchester on August 15 but will for other parts of England:
- Indoor theatres, music and performance venues won't be able to reopen with socially distanced audiences.
- Wedding receptions in the form of a sit-down meal in a "COVID-secure location" for up to 30 guests won't be permitted.
- The piloting of a small number of sporting events to test the safe return of spectators won't apply.
- Indoor play and indoor soft play, bowling alleys, skating rinks and casinos still can't reopen.
- Beauty salons, tattoo studios, spas and barbers will not be able to offer all close contact services – including front of the face treatments such as eyebrow threading, eyelash treatments and facials.
- Pilots at event venues to help plan how best to restart indoor business events and implement social distancing practices won't happen.
Nightclubs, dance halls, as well as sexual entertainment venues and hostess bars, remain closed in law across England.
And a rule that applies to all of England is that from Saturday, hairdressers and beauty therapists should now wear a face mask in addition to a clear face visor, following new evidence by SAGE.
