Good morning gamers. Did you have a good sleep? I sure hope you did, because some exciting new game announcements just dropped — and you definitely don’t want to miss them.
Last night, Xbox held its annual Games Showcase on YouTube, revealing a wide variety of epic games and a surprising new handheld console.
Xbox has had a somewhat tumultuous few years. Truthfully, they’ve been the odd ones out this console generation. With the PlayStation 5 Pro releasing late last year and the Nintendo Switch 2 releasing just last week, a lot of us have been looking at Xbox, wondering what they can do to recapture some momentum.
Just last year, they released its befuddling campaign “Everything is an Xbox” to market its Game Pass service. That’s right, your PC, your phone, even you, are a Xbox. If you find any red rings on your body, you should get them checked ASAP.
The campaign was designed to let users know Xbox goes beyond just the consoles. Players could subscribe to the Game Pass service and play games on any device it was compatible with.
Wanna play Doom: The Dark Ages on release on your Xbox or PC? You can, thanks to Game Pass. While the message was about accessibility, some viewed this as “the death of the Xbox”, with parent company Microsoft admitting the console wasn’t selling as well as desired.
Thankfully, this showcase gave us a bit more insight into what Xbox has on the horizon and how it plans to recoup the billions of dollars spent buying up studios.
