It's official: The last month of 2025 is here. And proving its status as gift-giving season, December is back with a plethora of great shows and movies to stream. One of the best streaming services around, Apple TV especially has a full Santa sack of high-profile flicks, new originals and returning favorites for the month.
First up is, naturally, a holiday special featuring your favorite fuzzy Fraggles, "The First Snow of Fraggle Rock." Later in the month sees the streaming premiere of "F1 the Movie," the high-octane sports drama starring Brad Pitt as a Formula One driver. And wildlife lovers will no doubt enjoy the streamer's new animal docuseries "Born to be Wild," narrated by "Downton Abbey" patriarch Hugh Bonneville.

'The First Snow of Fraggle Rock'
"The Fraggles eagerly await the first snow of the season and all the traditions it brings, but when only a single snowflake arrives and Gobo can’t write the yearly holiday song everyone is expecting, the season is thrown off course," reads the synopsis for the Fraggles' new holiday special, which hits Apple TV globally on Friday, December 5.
That prompts Gobo (voiced by John Tartaglia) to seek musical inspiration in the human world, with cameos from YouTube-famous singer Lele Pons on the Fraggle classic "Our Melody" and other holiday numbers. Back at the Gorgs’ castle, Junior must contend with overwhelming emotions over the arrival of a new baby to the family.

'F1 the Movie'
Apple's highest-grossing film ever is finally revving up on the streamer: "F1 the Movie" will come speeding onto the platform on Friday, December 12. From the filmmakers behind "Top Gun: Maverick" comes the action-packed racing drama, which stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 legend whose superstar driving career was nearly upended by a track accident back in the 1990s.
Now a racer-for-hire, Sonny gets a last-chance shot at racing glory when he's approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who convinces him to come back to Formula 1 after a 30-year absence to bring their struggling team APXGP back from the brink and first across the finish line.
Along with Pitt and Bardem, the "F1" cast also includes Damson Idris as hotshot rookie Joshua Pearce, Kerry Condon as the team's technical director Kate McKenna, and Tobias Menzies as a scheming board member.

'Born to be Wild'
For fans of all things fuzzy, funny and ferocious, Apple TV's all-new, six-part wildlife series premieres globally on Friday, December 19. Narrated by Hugh Bonneville, the new nature show was filmed over several years across three continents, following six endangered young animals — from an elephant calf to a rescued African penguin — as they grow up under the rehabilitative care of humans, all with the goal of reintegrating them into the wild.
"From their earliest days through their journey to life in the wild, the series highlights the challenges, triumphs and resilience that define their survival, both for the animals and the extraordinary people working to raise and protect them," reads the series' official synopsis.
