Nottingham Forest defender Michael Hefele has been using the off-season to continue his recovery from an Achilles injury.
The centre-back has been out of action since January, when he was forced off early on in the New Year’s Day victory over Leeds United at the City Ground.
It means he has not yet had the chance to catch boss Martin O’Neill’s eye, after the Northern Irishman took charge later that month.
But Hefele has shared a picture of himself taking part in a rehabilitation session, writing on Twitter: “Everything is under control #heffingdream #HEF44”
And it seems as though he is looking forward to linking up with fellow injury victim Hillal Soudani again, when the Reds return for pre-season.
Soudani also endured , making just eight appearances for Forest – with the last one coming back in October.
Responding to a comment from his teammate to his Twitter post, Hefele said: “See u soon u big big big player.”
And Soudani replied: “See you bro.”
Hefele made the switch to the banks of the River Trent 12 months ago, having left Huddersfield Town, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.
He made 18 appearances in the campaign just gone, before being sidelined through injury.
