The Kansas City Chiefs hosted the 49th annual 101 Awards on Saturday night.
Don’t worry though, you haven’t missed out on anything just yet. The event was recorded and will be broadcast on NFL Network at later date. If you’re not familiar with the 101 Awards here’s a brief description of the event from Chiefs CEO and Chairman Clark Hunt.
The Chiefs kicked off the event with a press conference introducing the Chiefs’ annual awards which include the Derrick Thomas MVP award and the Mack Lee Hill Award for rookie or first-year players. Patrick Mahomes was the recipient of the Derrick Thomas MVP, while Andrew Wylie took home the Mack Lee Hill award.

There were a few more moments worthy of capturing though. KCTV5’s Tom Martin captured a pretty good joke from Clark Hunt when introducing some of the awards recipients.
The Hunt family presented Patrick Mahomes with a Hunt’s ketchup themed bottle of Champagne per the Kansas City Star’s Brooke Pryor.
Drew Brees appeared on video to accept his award and he had a special message for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.

- NFC Defensive Player of the Year – Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams
- AFC Coach of the Year – Frank Reich, Indianapolis Colts
- NFC Coach of the Year – Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears
- Lamar Hunt Award for Professional Football – Bobby Bell, Kansas City Chiefs
