Everyone’s favorite vampire obsession is heading to Netflix

People have been putting off their next vampire obsession for too long and now, season 2 of the hit series is heading to Netflix. I am talking about Interview with the Vampire of course. And season 1 is there, waiting for you to take a bite.

If you are not a fan of the Anne Rice novels (or just haven’t read them yet), don’t worry. The toxic love story of Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) is one that will captivate you and have you rooting for one of the most twisted vampires in the canon. Yes, this is a safe space for the Lestat girlies.

Based on Rice’s beloved books, the show details Louis’ interview with Daniel Malloy (Eric Bogosian). Well, the second interview because the first one, which the film with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt details and the show references, did not go well. As Louis tells his story of love, loss, and becoming a vampire, the series weaves back and forth between Louis’ detailing of events in the present in Dubai and flashbacks his life with Lestat and Claudia.

But warning: The show is addictive. I came to Interview with the Vampire later in life. Not that I was against it, I just hadn’t seen the movie. But there is something about this show that is so captivating, you just can’t help but love it. And why not watch Louis and Lestat’s story in preparation for season 3?

The first season is currently on Netflix and you have until September 30, when season 2 drops on the streaming platform, to catch up. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

Just in time for Rockstar Lestat

I have been patiently waiting to see Sam Reid embody Lestat’s rockstar era. By patiently I mean not at all but hey, I can lie to myself just as Louis does about his feelings for Lestat. In the book, The Vampire Lestat, he goes through a musician phase and while we have one song with “Long Face,” the show will have more music and be an overall different vibe from the first two seasons.

So if you haven’t yet taken the dive into the series, you can enjoy them as the rest of us wait for more of Lestat singing. Or maybe we all should do watch parties and just enjoy the show together again? The point is, this is your time to watch one of the best adaptations around and I wouldn’t steer you wrong! The show is amazing!!

Season 1 is streaming now and make sure you finish in time to start season 2 when it lands on Netflix on September 30.
