Everyone please stop tweeting at Paul George. It’s not his fault Zion’s shoe exploded.

This is a PSA post: Please stop tweeting nasty things at Paul George regarding Zion Williamson’s shoe exploding on Wednesday night.

The Duke star and potential future No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft just happened to be wearing PG 2.5 shoes, from the Oklahoma City Thunder forward’s signature line of kicks when early in Duke’s loss to North Carolina, his sneaker blew out and he injured his knee.

Is any of that remotely George’s fault? Absolutely not. But because Twitter exists, people inevitably reached out to say some things to George, as if he stitched each sneaker together himself. Here’s a sampling:

It goes on from there, and obviously, it’s silly. Nike’s stock dropped, so they’re the ones taking the heat (temporarily) for it. No need to tweet at George.
