A Facebook post about a "robbery" at a petrol station has gone viral online. In recent days a post about the supposed robbery, claimed to be happening at petrol stations across the UK, has been doing the rounds and been shared hundreds of times on social media.
While it initially reads as a genuine story about a robbery at a Tesco petrol station, with the person claiming all their money was "gone", it's in fact a humorous take on skyrocketing prices at the pumps. You can read more about fuel prices in Wales here.
It reads: "Thanks everyone for your concern and lovely messages. First off, I'm OK, I'm a bit shaken up though. For those of you that aren’t aware, I was robbed at Tesco petrol station in Cardiff earlier this evening. After I calmed down I managed to call the police. They were quick to respond and calmed me down because my heart was bouncing round and I was a mess. My money is gone however. The police asked me if I knew who did it. I replied with 'Yes, it was pump number 2'.”

Fuel prices have been skyrocketing across the UK, with petrol soaring to around 160p and diesel now higher than 170p. It prompted Chancellor Rishi Sunak to announce a cut to fuel duty in his spring Statement on Wednesday. It means that petrol prices will be reduced by 5p per litre.
