Everybody loves Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane but Liverpool's Mohamed Salah treated harshly

Liverpool booked their spot in the final of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon after beating rivals Manchester City 3-2 at Wembley. The Reds will play for a third time at Wembley this season when they take on either Chelsea or Crystal Palace in their first final in a decade next month.

The Reds are in with a chance of winning it all as they have already lifted the Carabao Cup in February and have recently reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. Liverpool are currently just a point behind City in the race for the Premier League title.

Naby Keita was perhaps a surprise inclusion in the Liverpool midfield as he started alongside the fantastic duo of Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara with captain Jordan Henderson having to settle for a place among the substitutes.

VERDICT: Liverpool may have just dealt Man City lasting damage after turning Wembley red again

TALKING POINT: Thiago Alcantara's astonishing pass statistic against Man City underlines why Liverpool bought him

HAVE YOUR SAY: Rate the Liverpool players after their 3-2 win vs Man City in the FA Cup Semi-Final

Ian Doyle was on ECHO player ratings duty at Wembley as Thiago and Sadio Mane were each given a rating of nine out of 10 for their part in the semi-final win. Mane scored twice in the first half with Thiago assisting one of those goals.

Ibrahima Konate started alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence and the Frenchman was at his best as he opened the scoring with a dominant header from a corner early in the first half.

What everyone else said

Of course, other ratings are available. And the national media were largely unanimous in their verdict.

The Guardian rated Thiago and Mane as Liverpool's best players during the win over City with both of them being given a rating of nine. Andy Robertson was given the lowest rating of the Reds platers with a six.

The Express was in agreement with everyone else as Mane and Thiago were both given a rating of nine once again after their fine displays, but Salah was harshly given a rating of just five for his part in the semi-final win.

More ratings of nine were given to both Thiago and Mane by 90min, but they cruelly gave Salah a rating of three and Robertson just a four for their part in the Liverpool's progression to the FA Cup final.
