Not a bad end to a pretty good week for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s side continued the perfect start to their Premier League title defence with a 2-0 win at Chelsea on Sunday.
Two goals from Sadio Mane were enough to see off the Londoners after the Senegalese drew a red card for Andreas Christensen on the stroke of half-time.
Yours truly was on ratings duty for the ECHO at Stamford Bridge and was particularly taken by the performance of two players.
Mane earned 9 for his match-defining endeavours, and he was joined by Fabinho, who impressed as a stand-in centre-back.
Alisson Becker, who saved a penalty from Jorginho, and Jordan Henderson, who was forced off at half-time through injury, both scored 8 for their displays.
And so too did Thiago Alcantara, who demonstrated in the second half quite what all the fuss has been about.
What everyone else said
Of course, other ratings are available. And the national media were in agreement over who deserved the most praise.
The Mirror ranked Fabinho and Mane best with 8. Keita and Henderson scored 6.
The Mail do things by halves and had Fabinho top on 9 ahead of Mane on 8.5.
