Everybody loves Liverpool's Mohamed Salah - but what's up with Gini Wijnaldum?

Happy new season, everybody. And a happy start for Liverpool, who eased to a 4-1 triumph over Norwich City on Friday.

A Grant Hanley own goal set them on their way before Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Divock Origi all netted before the break.

It was enough to put Liverpool top of the table - well, until Manchester City turned up - but it wasn't completely plain sailing.

Yours truly was once again on ratings duty for the ECHO and considered Salah head and shoulders above the rest with 9.

Roberto Firmino was scored 8 with a bunch of players on 7. Fabinho and Trent Alexander-Arnold were among those on 6.

Supporters voting on the ECHO website agreed Salah was best but the Egyptian was given a lower average of 8.1

Of course, other ratings are available. And the national media pointed to Liverpool's forwards when issuing praise.
