Everybody loves Liverpool’s Alisson Becker but the view on Naby Keita is mixed

Good, indifferent or downright fortunate, Liverpool’s games are ending in pretty much the same way these days.

With a victory.

Number 25 out of 26 in the Premier League was assured with a fitful display as rock-bottom Norwich City were beaten 1-0 at Carrow Road on Saturday evening.

It wasn’t brilliant, nor was it awful. It was, though, more than sufficient.

And that was reflected in the ECHO ratings from yours truly, highlighting key contributions from a number of players.

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker, skipper Jordan Henderson and matchwinner Sadio Mane all top-scored with 8.

Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho all registered 7.

The rest notched 6, which was an improvement for Trent Alexander-Arnold who had struggled to reach a 5 at half-time.

Thankfully, games don’t last 45 minutes.

What everyone else said...

Of course, other ratings are available. And the national media weren’t in complete agreement over which Liverpool players to praise.

The Mirror ranked Alisson and Mane best on 8 ahead of Alexander-Arnold and Henderson on 7.

The Mail do things by halves and considered Henderson the most impressive on 8.5 with Alexander-Arnold scoring 8.

The Daily Star put Henderson top on 8 but Wijnaldum, Firmino and Salah got only 5.

The Express thought Mane best with 9 ahead of Robertson on 8.

The Independent rated more than half the Liverpool team on 7 but gave 5 to Salah and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Meanwhile, The Times wasn't impressed and gave Alisson top mark with 7 while Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain were given 5.

Finally, the number-crunchers at WhoScored.com calculated Keita was statistically the best on 7.57 ahead of Henderson on 7.40. Last was Salah on 6.29.
