Everybody is talking about one thing after Taoiseach's huge lockdown announcement

Micheál Martin has confirmed Ireland's roadmap back to normality after addressing the nation from the steps of Government Buildings on Tuesday evening.

Masks will be required in certain settings such as public transport, healthcare and in retail after October 22.

On the same date, nightclubs are expected to reopen under the plans signed off by Cabinet on Tuesday.

October 22 - just over 50 days - will also see the final day that all legal restrictions are set to be lifted on society and the economy.

But there was one aspect of the roadmap that had a lot of people talking on social media in the immediate aftermath.

Ahead of the reopening of nightclubs, there will be a trial nightclub event in September, which the Irish Mirror revealed would be in the Button Factory.

But that didn't stop people from wishing for one specific venue.

One user tweeted: "I am willing to bet €5000 that this will be in Coppers."

A second said: "Can Mr Martin just tell me when I can boogie in the nightclub again pls?"

While another said: "Right so, I’m off to queue for Coppers" while a third said: "If the trial event isn’t a Leaving Cert results night featuring Scotty T and Marty Guilfoyle in some random nightclub no one’s ever heard of, I do not want it."

A fourth added, "The nightclub trial is just going to be politicians and their friends standing in cordoned-off areas in Coppers, wearing chinos and drinking bottles of bud, swaying to Mr Brightside isn't it."

An industry source has told the Irish Mirror that a pilot night is being planned for the Button Factory.

The Temple Bar venue will not be at full capacity, however, as the industry begins to reopen for the first time in over a year and a half.

Instead of being limited to those who are vaccinated, attendees will have to take a PCR test both before and after the event, with the potential for details being taken to help with contact tracing.
