Every word Thomas Frank said on Everton, Newcastle draw and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacking

What were you happy with in the draw at Newcastle?

What I was impressed with was that, Newcastle fans were absolute bang on it and the team came out in a completely different approach, very front-footed and aggressive. I think we managed the first 10 minutes very well, then we went 1-0 down from a defensive corner which is an area they've been good at this season, so the roof was lifted.

After that, the response was fantastic, of course you can't plan to just reply as quickly as we did, but we scored and the next spell from that 1-1 goal to their 2-2 goal [Newcastle's equaliser], we were in complete control.

I think that's quite impressive, going away to a difficult away ground with very loud home fans. Then we struggled a bit after they equalised [2-2], and then I would say there wasn't much in it for the first 15 minutes in the second half, and from there to they equalised at [3-3] then we scored after 60, then we were completely on top. Then there was one moment of brilliance and quality that got them back into the game. We need to be able to play even more good minutes to get three points.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked by Manchester United this week. Were you surprised to find out?

It's not for me to judge the Man Utd board. They do what they do, I think all results speak for themselves and I think he stabilised the club. From coming third, second and brought more players in, every team will have bad spells.

What are you expecting from Everton on Sunday?

I think they will do everything they can to turn it around. They will see this as an opportunity to get three points, I think that's what every manager has to think, we will go to the next game to turn it around or keep the run going and get three points on the scoreboard. I think we can only focus on what we can do and I think it's very important that our approach is the main thing, which is the thing I can control.

How's Yoane Wissa doing and what are the chances of him at least making the bench on Sunday?

He will make the bench, he is looking better. That's very positive, still a bit to go to that very good fitness level that he just had before he got injured unfortunately. He is looking sharper and scoring goals in training, and that's nice to see.
