Every word Ryan Mason said on Harry Kane, Gareth Bale future and Europa Conference League

Good to end on a win?

Yeah I thought so. I thought in the second half we were excellent, in the first half as well we were very good. Obviously disappointing to concede two penalties. But firstly I want to dedicate that win to Simon Bamber and his family. He was incredibly loved at this football club, we lost him a couple of days ago. So I’m sure he’s looking down on us, and he helped us today.

Because in the last 10 minutes we showed immense quality in those moments where there’s big pressure. We felt the pressure with their fans as well. We felt that energy within the place.

I thought the calmness we showed, the desire first of all to run, every one of those players on the football pitch wanted to run, they wanted to compete, they wanted to fight together. And when you do that, you have a chance. Like I said, I thought in the second half we had some moments of immense quality.

Europa League, missed out on top six…

First of all, we wanted to be in the Champions League. I’ve said all along, it’s disappointing where we are in this moment. It’s very disappointing for the football club. It's important we’re in Europe, not the European competition we’d want to be in. Wednesday night was a massive dent for us, I said that after the game.

The most important thing to come to do today was to come and win, at a very very difficult place to come. And I thought we came here and not only won, I thought we deservedly won. I felt like we were the better team. I felt like we were in control, and like I said, we had some real moments of quality.

So it was important we finished today with a win, for many different reasons. Yes, it’s not the competition we want to be in next year, but it’s a European competition, and we will respect it, that’s for sure.

Gareth Bale made a tremendous difference in the second half, has he done enough to earn a second season back at Tottenham?

I'm not going to speak about individuals when it comes to this summer and next season. We need to appoint a manager first but in terms of Gareth, yes he produced moments of brilliance.

I've said all along that Gareth won't lose this. You don't overnight lose that ability to produce moments when you're that good.

He's proven that over a decade and he's been excellent for me and he's been excellent today as well.

I thought he came on and changed the game. Some of the touches and the balls he played, he showed immense quality and I expect nothing less from Gareth.

Can you talk about Harry Kane winning the Golden Boot for a third time?

Harry Kane deservedly won the Golden Boot today. Like I said all along I think he's been the best player in the Premier League. Most goals and most assists, it says it all.

I feel very honoured to have played with him and we had some amazing experiences together, coming through the ranks, and I've been very fortunate in these past five weeks to have coached him, to have managed him and he turned up again today.

He scored important goals in important moments and showed moments of brilliance. So from an individual point of view I'm very pleased Harry has got another Golden Boot to add to the collection.
