Every word from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp's heartwarming speech at the FIFA Football Awards 2019

It was another memorable night for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at the FIFA The Best Awards in Milan on Monday evening.

Klopp was named Best Men's Coach as he saw off competition from Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino of Tottenham to the award.

The Reds secured the Champions League in June and finished the Premier League with 97 points as they were pipped at the post by Man City last season.

Klopp was gracious in victory and used the opportunity on the world stage to thank a number of people while he also had an announcement to make.

"What can I say, I have to say thank you to a lot of people obviously," said Klopp in his speech.

"Nobody would have expected this 20 years ago, five years ago, four years ago.

"Mauricio, I won that game (the Champions League final), that's why I'm here not you. That's just how football is.

"I have to say thank you to my outstanding club Liverpool FC. Whoever doesn't love it, has no heart.

"I have to thank my team. As a coach, you can only be as good as your team. I'm really proud of being a manager of an incredible bunch."

"I don't understand 100% individual prizes. But I get it, I am here for a lot of people."

Klopp then revealed that he was the latest member of the Common Goal project which was launched by Manchester United star Juan Mata two years ago.

The charity encourages players and coaches to pledge at least one percent of their salaries to a fund that supports football charities all over the world.

He added: "We are all here on the really good side of life. There are people out there who do not have the same situation. From today on I am a member of the Common Goal family. If you don't know it, Google it."
