How much did you enjoy that?
I very much enjoyed it. It was a great experience especially to be out there with a lot of the other academy lads. I wish we could have got something from the game whether it be a draw or a win but overall it was a positive night.
The managers just said everyone impressed in their own way and if you keep going like that. There will be more chances to become a first-team player is that encouraging to hear?
Yes, he says that all the time that every opportunity we get, we have to try and take it and impress. So every time we go on a pitch, whether it's a match or training, we just have to do our best to try and impress him.
What did he say to you in the dressing room?
He didn't say much. He said we should be proud of ourselves that we did well, but that was it.
The first appearance of many?
Hopefully, hopefully for all of us, the first of many.
What was it like being out there with the three other lads who you're in the under 23 team with as a back four?
It was a bit surreal because we've played so much together in the U23's this season and we're good friends so to be out there with them was a great experience and it kind of made it easier because it's like you're talking to a friend someone that you know very well so it made it easier.
When did the boss tell you that you were starting?
We had an inkling on Monday, but we found out for sure yesterday.
