Every Scots council's Covid infection rate listed by Public Health Scotland amid 2,771 new cases

A further 2,771 Covid cases have been detected in Scotland with the nation's death toll from the virus up by another 17.

Figures have been published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland (PHS) this afternoon as part of the national Covid-19 daily briefing.

Nationally, there are 779 patients being treated in hospital which is up eight from yesterday. There are currently 57 people with the disease being treated in ICUs.

The number of newly-reported positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has increased by 222 to 48,946.

Of the new cases, 93 were from East Ayrshire, 65 in South Ayrshire and 63 attributed to North Ayrshire.

A total of 688,582 positive tests have now been recorded from 3.537 million tests carried out since the start of the pandemic.

According to Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Clackmannanshire has the highest rate in the country – at 623.9 as of Monday, November 15.

The Orkney Islands has the second-highest infection rate at 575.9 while Moray is third with 557.9.

In terms of Ayrshire's local authorities, it is 497.5 in East Ayrshire and 382.6 in South Ayrshire. North Ayrshire's is 330.0.

A total of 15 of Scotland's 32 council regions have an infection rate below the national average of 385.2.

Another 17 deaths mean 9,406 people have passed away since March 2020.

However, data from the National Records of Scotland (NRS) shows 11,818 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, November 7 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.

Across the UK, the figure is 142,945 as of last night.

There are 75 patients being treated for the disease in Ayrshire hospitals, which is the same number as yesterday, and fewer than five people in ICUs.

Nationally, a total of 4,331,574 people have received the first dose of a Covid vaccine and 3,930,317 are doubled jabbed.
