Every player who could be banned from Euro 2020 as UEFA takes hardline Super League stance

The civil war over football's future threatens to see some of the game's biggest names BARRED from Euro 2020 as UEFA takes a hardline stance.

It was announced on Sunday that a group of 12 clubs have agreed on a plan to break away from the Champions League format to form a so-called Super League.

It would see 15 permanent members compete regardless of their domestic results, effectively killing the idea of qualifying by meritocracy.

Six clubs from the English Premier League have signed on to the plans, as well as teams from Italy and Spain.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has come out fighting, threatening to ban players from the 12 clubs from competing in his organisation's competitions.

And the Slovenian wants to bring that sanction in time for Euro 2020.

Ceferin said: "We're still assessing the situation with our legal team. It's a bit too early.

"We will take all the sanctions that we can and we will inform you as soon as we have a clear answer. My opinion is that, as soon as possible, the players have to be banned from all our competitions."

With Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham signed up, that could see some of the Premier League's biggest stars watching from home.

They're joined by Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Italy's three biggest clubs Juventus, Milan and Inter.

Here are the stars who could miss out if UEFA follow through on their threat.
