Every player linked with Crystal Palace ahead of January transfer window including 'next Lukaku'

Crystal Palace had one of their most memorable transfer windows in recent history over the summer as they rebuilt their first team squad with several marquee signings.

The Eagles spent just over £60million combined on Joachim Andersen, Marc Guehi, Michael Olise, Odsonne Edouard and Will Hughes, as well as signing Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea.

The club's owners have said it is their aim to push Palace into the top half of the Premier League - an accomplishment only achieved once before in the Eagles history (2014-15).

So far Patrick Vieira's side are on target, as after 11 league matches they sit tenth in the league having only lost two games away at title-contenders Liverpool and Chelsea.

The January window provides Palace with an opportunity to bolster their playing options, especially as up to four of their players could miss up to a month of the season due to participation in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

Below, football.london has gone through five of the players that have regularly been linked with moves to south London and looks at their season credentials so far.

Aaron Ramsey

Former Arsenal man Ramsey was first linked with a move to south London in October, but reports have picked up again linking him with Palace thanks to Juventus' updated stance on the midfielder.

Italian outlet CalcioMercato are reporting that Massimiliano Allegri is no longer wanted in Turin and that the 30-year-old has no future at the club.

Ramsey has only featured in just five matches for Juventus this season for a combined total of 112 minutes and is reported to be currently earning £175,000 a week at the club.

John Swift

Another midfielder linked with the Eagles this season has been Reading's John Swift, whose contract with the Royals expires at the end of the current season.

The 26-year-old started the campaign in excellent form by scoring seven goals and laying on five assists in his first nine Championship matches.

Burnley, Norwich and Wolves are also said to be interested in Swift, though Palace's midfield depth means securing his signature might not be a priority for them in January.

Reyes Cleary

West Bromwich Albion's 17-year-old youth striker Reyes Cleary has already been compared to a young Romelu Lukaku, and he has the suitors to match such lofty comparisons.

Palace are said to be interested along with a host of other Premier League and Bundesliga clubs, with Cleary having already registered 11 league goals in 11 games for the Baggies' youth sides this season.

Borja Mayoral

Palace were linked with 24-year-old striker Mayoral in the summer, though opted to sign Odsonne Edouard from Celtic for around £14million on deadline day.

The former Spain Under-21 international scored 17 goals in 45 games for Roma last season but has found his playing time significantly reduced under Jose Mourinho this season, making just seven appearances for a combined 100 minutes on the field.

The Eagles have not struggled for goals so far this term, with Conor Gallagher and Wilfried Zaha both scoring four each while Edouard has three and Christian Benteke two.

It would cost Palace a good sum of money to sign Mayoral, which given the signing of Edouard only two months ago doesn't seem like a likely transfer.

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa

Cameroonian midfielder Anguissa is not unfamiliar with the Premier League, having been part of two Fulham sides to be relegated from the division in recent seasons.

The tough-tackling 25-year-old is currently plying his trade in Serie A for Napoli on loan from the Whites, where his contract runs out in the summer.

Vieira is said to have been interested in Anguissa in the summer, and therefore might be tempted to make another move for the midfielder.

Club captain Luka Milivojevic and Cheikhou Kouyate have been rotating the holding role in Palace's midfield so far this season, though both are now in their early 30s meaning the club might look for a longer-term replacement in that position.
