Newcastle United have several contract conundrums facing the board at the end of this season.
Sean Longstaff's goal against Watford was a timely reminder of his quality as the 23-year-old's future remains up in the air.
Longstaff is one of three first-team players that are out of contract in 2022, with manager Steve Bruce also in the same boat.
Everton and Southampton have been credited with an interest in Longstaff, whilst there are several important players with a little over 18 months on their deals.
"Sean is playing very well at the moment. I have been very, very pleased with him," Bruce said.
"So as far as I am aware, the contract details, we understand, that is for other people to sort out. Not me.
"But he is playing very well which is important for Sean.”
