Every game of Women's Super League to be streamed live for free on new FA app

The FA have announced that every game of this season's Women's Super League will be available to watch live for free on their new streaming platform.

All 132 fixtures will be shown live on the FA Player app, along with selected Women's Championship matches.

The app will launch on September 2, in time for the season opening-opening Manchester derby on September 7, with the remaining five fixtures of matchday one taking place the following day.

Fans will be able to download the app and register for free, as the FA look to boost coverage of the women’s game after the record-breaking success of this summer’s World Cup.

The BBC’s free-to-air coverage of England’s semi-final defeat against the USA attracted a TV audience of 11.7million, the highest figure for a live TV event in 2019.

In previous seasons, only selected games have been shown live, across a combination of BT Sport, BBC and Facebook.

The app will also show highlights of international women’s games and the Women’s FA Cup.
