Back in 2016 an unknown Iranian businessmen invested heavily in Everton Football Club.
Farhad Moshiri, the man who was sold the Goodison Park dream by Bill Kenwright, initially purchased a 49.9% stake that soon turned into a majority shareholding.
In the years since, Moshiri has injected £350m into the coffers at Everton and sanctioned the spending of millions on new players.
That spending has been overseen by three permanent managers all of whom have tried and failed to deliver the standards Moshiri craves.
Moshiri’s money and influence has no doubt gone along way to improving many aspects of the club but the one area which has been questioned during his tenure is player recruitment.
It must be stressed the final say on many of the incomings over the past four years will have come from the likes of Ronald Koeman, Sam Allardyce, Marco Silva and Steve Walsh with Moshiri the money man.
