Every child living in Manchester is entitled to free swimming in the school holidays.
With the weather hotting up, families have been making the most of the perk and enjoying a cool dip.
It's not a new offer and has been running for a number of years, but Manchester City Council is reminding residents so they don't miss out during the Easter school holidays 2019: things to do with the family across Greater Manchester during the break .
It shared a photo on its Facebook page of children enjoying swimming at one of its leisure centres and said: "Did you know free swimming is available for children in Manchester during the school holidays?"
Anyone under 17 and living in Manchester is entitled to the offer at general swim times. The same applies to those 60 and over who can swim for free all year round in the council's 'Swim for All' sessions.

You can swim at any pool operated by the council, including Abraham Moss, North City, Manchester Aquatics Centre, East Manchester, Arcadia, Moss Side, Hough End and Wythenshawe Forum.
You can register here and proof of age and residency is required.
In other areas of Greater Manchester, children having swimming lessons at council pools are entitled to free swim sessions at other times. Some only get the perk if parents pay via direct debit.
