Every Chelsea player's summer transfer fate as Mauricio Pochettino makes ruthless decisions

The transfer window is beckoning and Chelsea are set to be active if the days following the end of the season are anything to go by. The Blues have Mauricio Pochettino set to arrive in time for pre-season and have work to do to ensure they have a squad that is to his liking.

Much has been made of the size of the west London side's group, while Frank Lampard made a stark revelation that too many players saw their future elsewhere or were disillusioned with their spot. There is no question Chelsea need to reduce their numbers and that is before the return of large loan army contingent.

Mason Mount has dominated headlines following the final day of the Premier League season, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek's farewell against Newcastle leaves an easy decision to be made on him. However, with the suggestion Pochettino wants to build around an English core, some difficult decisions await with the likes of Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah linked to departures, in addition to Mateo Kovacic.

Of course, Chelsea's incoming deals will dictate where they can sell too. Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga could both yet depart with a new No.1 on the club's transfer list in addition to Moises Caicedo.

A move for the latter has seen Brighton test Chelsea's resolve for Levi Colwill. The Blues have declared him not for sale but the Blues have no shortage of central defenders and one or more may have to make way. A difficult challenge with only Colwill having not arrived on a transfer or seen his contract extended in the last 12 months.

There will of course be a big decision to be made on the left side of defence between Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella, Lewis Hall and Ian Maatsen. Could the Spaniard be the one to leave?

Further upfield Chelsea's January transfers of Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk have perhaps already decided the futures of Chelsea's wings. Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic could finally secure their departures away from the club.

Our Chelsea correspondents Scott Trotter and Bobby Vincent have dissected the role of each member of Chelsea's squad to decide whether they have a place in Pochettino's squad next season. Though, they don't agree on quite everything.

You can listen to the show here as the duo decide who to keep, loan or sell.
