Croatian international Josip Juranovic has been linked with a move to Celtic as he becomes the latest right back to be touted for the problem position.
Sky Sports report that the Legia Warsaw defender is a target for Ange Postecoglou who is working hard in the transfer market as he sets about a major rebuild.
Defence is the priority after the Hoops shipped half a dozen goals against West Ham United and at least one right back is needed.
Celtic currently only have Anthony Ralston as the senior right-back in the squad, however they have been heavily linked with players as potential candidates to come in to fill the position.
The Hoops are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Royal Antwerp defender Aurelio Buta in a £3 million transfer.
The 24-year-old looks set to be the next signing at Parkhead, as the former Benfica man, reportedly nears his Parkhead switch.
Celtic have now been linked with Croatian right-back Juranovic with Sky Sports claiming a move could be on the cards.
The 25-year-old Legia Warsaw star joined the club from Hajduk Split in 2020 and has made 36 appearances for Legia, scoring one goal and registering nine assists.
There is also the possibility that Juranovic would not need to quarantine on his arrival to Scotland, if he is in his homeland, as Croatia currently sit on the green list of countries to the UK.
This could make him available for matches sooner rather than later, as the Scottish Premiership season nears.
Celtic face competition to land Juranovic though with both Fiorentina and Spartak Moscow also reportedly showing an interest in his services.
There has been no shortage of potential candidates to fill the vacant right-back void at Parkhead as the problem defensive position is on Ange Postecoglou's priority to fix, with the second leg of Champions League Qualifying just around the corner.
Here, Record Sport Online looks at some of the others.
Yan Couto
Celtic have also been linked with a move for Manchester City right back , with the Citizens ready to let the 19-year-old Brazilian leave on loan.
Last season he was sent to Spanish Second Division outfit Girona. He made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
Sacha Boey
The ex-Rennes right back is the one who got away as he left France to join Galatasaray with the 20-year-old highly rated.
Lee Buchanan
Record Sport exclusively revealed that the Derby County man is on Celtic's radar with Nottingham Forest also keen on him.
The 20-year-old left-back was outstanding for Wayne Rooney’s side last term and can also operate in the centre-back position.
Nathan Byrne
The 29-year-old Byrne is another at Pride Park who is attracting interest from Parkhead. He registered four assists in 42 appearances in all competitions last season and he could be the man Postecoglou turns to.
What is clear is that Celtic's hunt to fill their problem position has well and truly stepped up, with arrivals looking as though they are on the horizon, it may not be too much longer before the picture is clearer to who will be lining up for the Hoops this season.
George Baldock
Another exclusively revealed by Record Sport . The Sheffield United man was known to Celtic’s recruitment team two years ago when Swedish international Mikael Lustig left the club but he stayed with the Blades to play in the English Premier League under previous boss Chris Wilder.
