A further decrease in the towns and villages that have suppressed Covid cases in Ayrshire has been reported today.
New figures from today show that 49 areas out of 91 have low prevalence of the deadly virus compared to 50 last week.
Ayrshire as a whole reported 29 new cases in the past 24 hours with 16,232 positive tests being detected since the pandemic began.
The number of people in NHS Ayrshire & Arran hospitals is 31 — three less than yesterday. ICU numbers remain below five.
There have been no new deaths recorded across Scotland overnight.
There have been 532 new cases have been recorded with the nation's total now at 213,259.
But cases are so low in a number of Ayrshire areas they've been classes as 'suppressed' to protect patient confidentiality.
East Ayrshire
In East Ayrshire, 14 of the 30 areas are suppressed — six less than last week.
Suppressed: Stewarton West; Stewarton East; Shortlees; Newmilns; New Farm Loch South; New Cumnock; Kilmaurs; Kilmarnock South Central and Caprington; Galston; Drongan; Doon Valley North; Darvel; Bonnyton and Town Centre; Altonhill South, Longpark and Hillhead.
Not suppressed: Southcraig and Beansburn (171.6); Cumnock and Craigens (167.5); Bellfield and Kirkstyle (165.2); Doon Valley South (157.7); Cumnock North (156.5); Mauchline (153.0); Cumnock Rural (150.8); Crosshouse, Gatehead and Kilmaurs Rural (129.8); Piersland (124.7); Auchinleck (109.9); Dean and New Farm Loch North (109.2); Earlston and Hurlford Rural (106.6)Grange, Howard and Gargieston (82.9); Mauchline Rural (80.5); Altonhill North and Onthank (65.7); Northern and Irvine Valley Rural (48.4).
North Ayrshire
In North Ayrshire 22 of 37 areas are suppressed — five more than last week.
