Every area of the Liverpool City Region records a rise in Covid infections

All areas of the Liverpool City Region have recorded a rise in positive Covid tests.

According to the latest data from Public Health England, The Liverpool City Region recorded 6,141 positive tests in the week ending September 5 - 786 more cases than the previous seven days.

This means the percentage change week on week rise in the Liverpool City Region was 15%

Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens, Wirral, and Halton all saw increses in infections, which mirrors the national picture.

England recorded rises in positive tests. In the week ending September 5, England had 190,967 coronavirus cases, which is 19,130 more cases than the week before.

Infections also rose in West Lancashire, Warrington and Cheshire West and Chester..

Liverpool

Liverpool's positive tests came to 2,020 cases in the week ending September 5, which is 349 more cases than in the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change increased by 21%.

The latest infection rate was 403.6 cases per 100,000 people.

Halton

There were 585 positive tests over the last week, which is 105 more cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change increased by 22% in the week ending September 5. The latest infection rate is 450.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Knowsley

There was a total of 771 cases in the week ending September 5, which is 143 more cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 505.7 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases increased by 23% week on week.

Wirral

There were 1,095 positive tests in the week ending September 5, which is 112 more cases than in the previous week. Wirral's week-on-week percentage change increased by 11%. The latest infection rate was 337.6 cases per 100,000 people.

St Helens

There were 618 positive tests in the week ending September 5, which is 29 more cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate was 341.3 cases per 100,000 people. The week-on-week percentage change increased by 5%.

Sefton

There was a total of 1,052 cases in the week ending September 5, which is 48 more cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 381.3 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases increased by 5% week on week.

Liverpool City Region

There were 6,141 positive tests over in the week ending September 5, which is 786 more cases than in the previous week.

This means the week on week percentage change increased by 15%. The latest infection rate is 360.65 cases per 100,000 people.

West Lancs

West Lancashire recorded 481 coronavirus cases in the week ending September 5, which is 92 more cases than in the previous seven days.

This mean there was a week on week percentage increase of 24% in infections. The infection rate was 420.10 per 100,000 people.

Warrington

There were 706 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending September 5, which is 93 more cases than the previous week.

The week on week percentage figure increased by 15%. There was an infection rate of 337.16 per 100,000 people.

Cheshire West and Chester

There were 1,570 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending September 5, which is 458 more cases than the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 456.63 cases per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage increase of 41% in cases.

England

In England in the week ending September 5, there was an infection rate of 337.70 per 100,000 people.

The nation recorded 190,967 coronavirus cases, which is 19,130 more cases than in the previous seven days.

There was a week on week percentage increase of 11% in cases.
