Everton boss Willie Kirk praised his sides clinical first-half finishing in their 3-0 away win at Reading in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Swedish forward Anna Anvegard gave the Toffees an early lead at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, little more than 120 seconds after kick-off.
Claire Emslie and Danielle Turner also grabbed first-half goals as Kirk’s side ran riot.
Although the Scottish coach thought three goals slightly flattered his team in the first 45, he was pleased to see such a ruthless approach from the Toffees.
“Reading's never a place I look forward to coming to as I've never had much success here,” said Kirk.
“We needed the bit of confidence we picked up from the result last week to come here.
“I thought it ended up a 3-0 game although I don't necessarily think it was a 3-0 half, we were just clinical and took our chances.
“Then the second-half was about being professional and managing the game.”
The win gave Everton a second win on the bounce, a much-needed boost after starting last month with back-to-back 4-0 reverses against Manchester City and Chelsea.
The three points also saw the Toffees leapfrog City in the Barclays FA WSL table, moving up to eighth.
Kirk was grateful for a comfortable win, after he explained he was slightly caught out by Reading’s tactical approach in the first-half.
He added: “We knew that if Reading came at us, we would have to stand firm and if any chances did come our way to take them but unfortunately we weren't able to add to it.
“I was a little bit surprised by Reading's press, as it was something we had worked on and we were expecting them to be a bit more aggressive, which isn't always easy to play against.
“I don't think Sandy (MacIver, goalkeeper) had that much to do, but a clean sheet, her first of the season, is really important.”
