Everton Women complete loan transfer of Claire Emslie from Orlando Pride

Everton Women have completed the signing of Scottish international Claire Emslie for the 2020/21 season.

The Orlando Pride forward will join Willie Kirk's team on a one-year loan deal.

Emslie played for Kirk at both Hibs and Bristol City before being swooped up by Manchester City and becomes his sixth signing of the summer after Poppy Pattinson, Ingrid Moe Wold, Nicoline Sorensen, Rikke Sevecke and Valerie Gauvin.

The ECHO understands Everton will look to complete one more signing before the start of the campaign next month.

Having played for the Scotsman in the past, the 26-year-old attacker told  evertonfc.com  it was one of the reasons she made the move.

Emslie said: “It’s really exciting to be here.

“The Club is really trying to grow and is on a journey. It’s definitely moving in the right direction.

“I’ve worked with Willie at Hibs and at Bristol and both my experiences were amazing.

“He’s someone I believe can get the best out of me – and that’s what I want to produce at Everton.”

Everton will get their Women's Super League campaign underway with a trip to Bristol City on September 6 before welcoming Tottenham Hotspur to Meseyside.
