Everton Women boss rewarded for impressive season with award nomination

Everton Women boss Willie Kirk has been rewarded for his impressive first full season in charge by being nominated for the Barclays FA WSL Manager of the Season award.

The Blues finished sixth in Kirk’s first season in charge, four places higher than their final position last season.

Kirk took over Everton in December 2018, having previously worked as assistant manager at Manchester United Women, and has gradually been stamping his influence on the team over the past 18 months.

Arguably the most notable highlight of Kirk’s time in charge is the memorable 1-0 victory over Liverpool Women at Anfield in November.

Kirk is in the running for the award with Manchester City’s Nick Cushing, Chelsea boss Emma Hayes, Spurs joint-managers Karen Hills and Juan Amoros, and Casey Stoney of Manchester United.
