Everton winger Yannick Bolasie shirt used as Royal Antwerp man tries bizarre move to force transfer

Royal Antwerp winger Didier Lamkel Ze has apologised after causing a scene at the club’s training ground while wearing the shirt of rivals Anderlecht.

Lamkel Ze was pictured fighting with security staff at Antwerp’s training ground while bizarrely sporting an Anderlecht shirt with Everton man Yannick Bolasie’s name on the back.

Bolasie, who is on the fringes at Everton and could be sent out on loan this month, spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Anderlecht in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

Cameroon international Zamkel Ze reportedly took matters into his own hands this week after being upset by the club’s refusal to let him move to Greek side Panathinaikos in the January transfer window.

He later posted on Instagram claiming that he would turn up in a shirt of another rival team, Beerschot, but has since backed down following an understandable backlash from fans.

After his bizarre and provocative behaviour went viral, the 24-year-old issued a grovelling video on Royal Antwerp’s Twitter account .

“I want to apologise to the club and to the Antwerp supporters, because they are magnificent and wonderful supporters, they have always supported me,” he said.

“If I reacted like this it is because my head was somewhere else, it was not easy for me.

“I really, really want to apologise for this gesture. I do not forget neither my team-mates in the locker room or the technical staff who have supported me since my arrival here.

“I am available for the club if the new coach needs me. I hope to find the supporters very soon on the pitch.”

Lamkel Ze has scored 11 goals and registered nine assists in all competitions over two years with Antwerp.

He was desperate to join Panathinaikos so he could link up with former Antwerp manager Laszlo Boloni, but with Franky Vercauteren recently appointed Antwerp manager, it seems he will have to stay put.
