Everton wait on Thierry Small offer as Manchester United and Arsenal circle

The offer of a professional contract at Everton remains on the table for Thierry Small.

Small is only eligible to sign a pro deal when he turns 17 at the start of next month and the Blues are hoping he puts pen to paper.

It remains unclear what the electric left-back's decision will be and a number of Premier League rivals - including Arsenal and Manchester United - have reportedly been circling around the England youth player.

Small became Everton's youngest ever player last season when Carlo Ancelotti brought him on for the final five minutes of January's FA Cup fourth round tie with Sheffield Wednesday.

The full-back was just 16 years and 176 days when he replaced James Rodriguez at Goodison, after a spell training under the Italian coach, and took the club record that had been held by Jose Baxter.

Everton want to tie the highly-rated scholar Small down to a professional deal and an offer has been made to the teenager.

Small joined Everton from West Bromwich Albion aged 11 and also made his under-23s breakthrough last season under David Unsworth, playing 13 times in Premier League 2, scoring three goals and laying on one assist.
