Everton vs Man City predicted lineups, confirmed team news and Premier League injury updates

Pep Guardiola is likely to recall Raheem Sterling against Everton, despite Manchester City’s 8-0 hammering of Watford without the England international.

Sterling was an unused substitute as the Premier League champions demolished Watford last week.

But he was back in the team and back on the score sheet in Tuesday’s EFL Cup win against Preston.

The only injury concerns for City are at the back where they are without John Stones and Aymeric Laporte.

Despite Eric Garcia impressing in midweek, Fernandinho is expected to start alongside Nicolas Otamendi at Goodison Park.

Riyad Mahrez has impressed in recent weeks, but he could step aside for Bernardo Silva, with David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne in midfield.

Joao Cancelo is pushing Kyle Walker at right back, while Benjamin Mendy has now played in three successive games after recovering from his latest knee injury.

As for Everton, Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin are both ruled out, while Marco Silva may have a tactical rethink given their last Premier League outing ended in a 2-0 home defeat to Sheffield United.

Alex Iwobi and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be pushing for starts after featuring in the 2-0 Carabao Cup win at Sheffield Wednesday.

Predicted lineups

Everton XI: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne; Schneiderlin, Delph; Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Bernard; Calvert-Lewin

Man City XI: Ederson; Cancelo, Fernandinho, Otamendi, Mendy; De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva; Bernardo, Aguero, Sterling
