Everton vs Liverpool
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: Goodison Park
Date: Sunday, 3 March, 2019
Kick-off: 4:15pm GMT
Liverpool will be looking to regain their status as Premier League leaders when they make the short trip to Goodison Park on Sunday to contest the 233rd edition of the Merseyside derby after Man City returned to the top with victory at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp believes that his side answered their growing list of doubters with an emphatic 5-0 destruction of surprise package Watford on Wednesday night that saw them maintain their one-point lead over the defending champions, who edged past West Ham.
Liverpool, who had dropped six points in four matches before that, got no help from their local rivals a fortnight ago as Everton slumped to a 2-0 defeat to City - the second of three successive losses amid a run of five defeats in six matches across all competitions that had seen the pressure mount on Marco Silva.
The Toffees claimed some much-needed respite in midweek in their first match since February 9 as a brace from Gylfi Sigurdsson helped seal a comfortable 3-0 win over relegation battlers Cardiff.
They currently sit ninth, level on points with West Ham and four adrift of both Wolves and Watford.
Everton team news
Everton could have a near entirely clean bill of health for the visit of Liverpool, with central defenders Phil Jagielka (knee) and Yerry Mina (foot) both returning to the matchday squad in south Wales.
Leighton Baines is also training again after a rib injury.
Predicted Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne, Gueye, Gomes, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Walcott, Richarlison
Liverpool team news
Roberto Firmino missed the win over Watford with an ankle injury sustained in the goalless draw against Manchester United, but Klopp said he had a 'big chance' of featuring in the derby.
Everton will likely come too soon for the returning Dejan Lovren (hamstring), while Joe Gomez (ankle) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) are still sidelined.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Milner, Salah, Mane, Firmino
Score prediction: Everton 1-3 Liverpool
Despite City's uncharacteristic struggle to break down West Ham, you get the distinct feeling that Liverpool cannot afford to drop many - if any - more points between now and the end of the season if they are to successfully end their 29-year title drought.
Everton were in particularly disappointing form before brushing aside a poor Cardiff outfit and will likely struggle to contain a Reds attack that got back to firing on all cylinders against Watford, even without Firmino in the lineup.

Head to head (h2h) history and results
These old rivals have met on 53 occasions in the Premier League era, with Liverpool claiming 23 victories and Everton only nine with a hefty 21 draws.
There was late drama during the reverse fixture at Anfield in early December, when Divock Origi was the beneficiary of a terrible error from Jordan Pickford during a 1-0 win for the hosts.
