Goodison Park, the home of Everton - (Getty Images)

Follow live coverage as Everton face Ipswich Town today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Everton FC 2 - 2 Ipswich Town FC

Everton vs Ipswich Town

17:04

Ipswich Town come from behind to earn a point as they draw 2-2 with Everton at Goodison Park. It all looked to be going the home side's way as goals from Beto and McNeil put them in a very comfortable position. Enciso pulled a goal back before half-time with one of the goals of the season, a stunning effort from way out, to give Ipswich hope. The second half was a mostly drab affair but there was to be a twist with just over 10 minutes to go as Hutchinson produced a fine run and cross which was finished off by substitute Hirst at the back post. Despite the good start under Moyes in his second spell in charge, they now have just one win in their last 10 games and haven't won a home match in three months. In terms of xG, Everton created 0.57 to Ipswich's 0.81. Moyes' side do move up to 13th with the point and now travel to Fulham next week while Ipswich host Brentford. That's all from me, thank you and goodbye!

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:53

There will be six minutes of added time. Plenty of time for either side to find a winner from somewhere.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:52

Everton seem to be the team that are likelier to find a winner but they aren't exactly applying too much pressure to the Ipswich backline. A cross from Young is easily headed away and the away side can clear.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:40

It's been 30 minutes since Everton last attempted a shot in this game. In saying that, there has been a lack of goalmouth action at the opposite end of the pitch too. A pretty forgettable second half with little in the way of quality.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:39

Substitution Norberto Bercique Gomes Betuncal Jack David Harrison

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:38

Patterson shows some nifty footwork to create some space for himself before lifting a cross at the back post for Beto but there's just too much on it. The home side still look relatively comfortable despite the one-goal advantage.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:36

It's Patterson who wins the ball off Clarke this time as Everton halt the latest attack from Ipswich. They just need to see this game out for the final 20 minutes to earn their first win at home since the first day of February.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:34

Clarke drives forward down the left for Ipswich but O'Brien shows great recovery pace to match his run and then win the ball off him. Him and Branthwaite have been largely untroubled this afternoon.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:25

Just over an hour gone and Everton hold a one-goal advantage over Ipswich. They're just beginning to turn the screw in this half as they search for another goal.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:22

McNeil again causes a few problems as he isolates Burgess and delivers another cross which Palmer can only parry away. Luckily for the goalkeeper, there's nobody in Everton colours to mop up the rebound.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:21

Enciso is still on and still causing problems! It's brilliant from Delap in actual fact as he takes up a position on the left and manages to dig the ball out for the Paraguayan from around 18 yards out but his shot is straight at Pickford.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:19

Everton threaten for the first time in the half as McNeil cuts in from the right and produces a teasing cross which just evades Beto and Ndiaye in the penalty area. They really need another goal to kill this game off.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:16

Encisco has been in the wars for Ipswich and has now gone down again. It looks like he might not be able to continue and that would be a huge blow for the visitors. It's a shame for the game in general as he's arguably been the best player on the pitch.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:15

Enciso continues to show his quality this afternoon. A lovely change of direction sees him burst past Ndiaye before being brought down. Ipswich now have a free-kick in a decent position.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

Play is stopped momentarily as Garner and Enciso are left on the deck after colliding with each other. Both are fine to carry on.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

16:08

Everton get the second half under way. No changes from either side.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:57

Moyes will be hoping his side can hold onto their advantage with Everton not enjoying a great run of recent form. The live win probability has their chances of winning at 79.3%, with the prospect of a draw at 15.7% and Ipswich coming back to win at 5%. The second half is coming right up.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:54

An entertaining first-half ends with Everton leading Ipswich Town 2-1. The home side made a really encouraging start on their penultimate game at Goodison Park and took the lead after Beto headed home following a curling cross from Alcaraz. They doubled their advantage as McNeil scored a stunning strike from distance. Ipswich pulled a goal back towards the end of the half through another unbelievable goal as Enciso beat Pickford with a wonderful effort from distance. In terms of xG, Everton have generated 0,45 to Ipswich's 0.38.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:49

There will be three minutes of added time for the first half. It's been a really enthralling first 45.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:48

Ipswich are applying heavy pressure as we approach the end of the half. They win a corner which is met by the head of O'Shea who directs it into the danger area but none of his teammates can navigate the space to test Pickford with an effort on goal.

That was McNeil's first goal since scoring against Crystal Palace in September 2024. It's also his fourth of the campaign. Only Leicester and Southampton have conceded more goals in the last 15 minutes of the first half than Ipswich. They have a mountain to climb now.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:43

Goal Julio César Enciso Espínola

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:43

CHANCE! Ipswich should really be on the scoresheet. Enciso isolates Patteron on the left and manages to find some space in the area but with the goal gaping, he skewers his effort wide of the near post. A player of his undoubted quality should have found the net.

Everton have avoided defeat in their last 11 matches when scoring first in the Premier League, since a 3-2 loss to Aston Villa on 14th September 2024. That was when former manager Sean Dyche was in charge.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:33

There's more drama involving Delap just a minute later as Branthwaite goes down after a challenge from the striker. Replays show that he received an elbow in the stomach from the Englishman, but he manages to escape a second yellow. That decision is not popular with the Goodison crowd.

Everton go forward again as Ndiaye picks out Patterson making the overlapping run from the right but the Scotsman's weak effort is easily saved by Palmer. That was the closest Everton have come to scoring but the keeper was still left untroubled.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:26

Encisco produces a fine bit of skill to beat Patterson down Ipswich's left side and the fullback ends up fouling the attacker moments later.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:23

Some really neat interplay from the away side opens up space for Hutchinson to pull the trigger from the edge of the area but his goalbound effort is blocked by Branthwaite. McKenna's men do offer a threat on the break.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:21

Ipswich have won their last two away league games against Everton, beating them 3-0 in September 2000 and 2-1 in February 2002. It's been over 20 years since their last visit but three-in-a-row would be some feat for the Tractor Boys.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:20

Beto attempts to sneak in behind the visitors' backline again but Palmer is alert to the danger and races out of his goal to collect the ball. Brilliant atmosphere at Goodison Park.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:17

Beto is already causing a few problems with his presence as he gets in front of the Ipswich defence to meet Patterson's cross with a header but once again once of his early efforts sails into the stands.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:15

Palmer punches the delivery away with the ball ultimately finding Beto on the edge of the area who attempts an ambitous overhead kick but it sails over the crossbar.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:14

Ndiaye sees his cross blocked by Taylor and Everton win another corner from this right side. They are controlling all aspects of the game at this stage,.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:12

Only Leicester (16) have failed to score in more different Premier League games than Everton (15) this season. The Toffees last drew a blank in more different matches back in 1998-99 (17). They will hope to find an early goal this afternoon.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:11

The corner is kept alive by Branthwaite at the back post who loops a header back for Beto but he can't generate much power on his effort in the air and Palmer is able to make a simple stop and hold onto the ball.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:10

McNeil's tricky run from the inside right position causes problems for the Ipswich backline and Greaves is forced to concede a corner with a sliding challenge to nick the ball away from Beto. Everton seem to be moving through the gears after a lacklustre opening few minutes.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:07

The first bit of attacking play of the match comes from the visitors as Delap picks the ball up from deep and advances through the centre of the pitch before attempting an effort on goal but he slips at the vital moment. Decent ball-carrying from the English striker.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

15:04

Quite remarkably, this is Moyes’ 1,167th game in charge in his managerial career across all competitions, but his first ever meeting with Ipswich. They’re the first ‘new’ English club he’s faced since beating Doncaster Rovers 4-0 while in charge of West Ham in January 2021.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

14:47

Broja is back after being ineligible against his parent club but only makes the bench here. Loanees Jesper Lindstrom and Orel Mangala are not in the squad due to injury and have likely played their last game for the club. McNeil makes a first start since knee surgery earlier in the year. Everton vs Ipswich Town

14:30

Ipswich had their relegation confirmed last week after a 3-0 defeat away to Newcastle United. The Tractor Boys look set to remain in 18th place for the final four matches of the season, though they are 15 points off West Ham United who occupy 17th, which just goes to show the chasm between the promoted sides of this campaign and the rest of the division. Kieran McKenna's side have still shown some good signs on the road this season with two thirds of their points coming away from home and they will hope to inflict a defeat on Everton who have been in poor form for some time.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

14:30

Everton continued their dreadful record at Stamford Bridge last week as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea which extends their winless run in the Premier League to 30 matches at the stadium. Despite a fine start to David Moyes' second reign, they have now won just one of their last nine matches. Nevertheless, the Toffees can move up two places to 13th with a win here and will want to put on a show for their supporters as they prepare for the penultimate game at Goodison Park. After winning 2-0 at Portman Road in October, Everton will be aiming to complete just a second Premier League double over Ipswich, after also managing that feat in 1994-95.
