Sound the Selhburst Park crisis klaxon! Having come up from the Championship play-offs, Huddersfield hammer Crystal Palace.
Result: Southampton 0-0 Swansea City
Premier League: It finishes scoreless, as Southampton fail to score at home for the sixth consecutive game.
GOAL! Chelsea 2-3 Burnley (Luiz 88)
It’s squeaky bum time for Burnley at the Bridge, where nine-man Chelsea have pulled another goal back against Burnley. David Luiz side-foots in to set up a very tense denouement.
Updated
More goals in the Championship: It’s Brentford 2-4 Nottingham Forest and Reading 1-1 Fulham.

Updated
GOAL! Crystal Palace 0-3 Huddersfield (Mounie 78)
The Terriers continue yapping and nipping around the Eagles’ heels, as Steve Mounie scores his second and Huddersfield’s third of the afternoon at Selhurst Park. Chelsea get the ball in the net again! But Alvaro Morata’s second “goal” is correctly ruled out for offside. They still trail Burnley 1-3.

Another goal at the Championship: Fulham, who have been down to 10 men since the 31st second of the opening minute, have finally conceded. Liam Kelly with the goal for Reading there. At the New Den, Felipe Morais has equalised for Bolton in their match against Millwall.
Antonio Conte rings the changes ...
Well, up to a point - they’re pretty conservative changes under the circumstances. He’s taken off striker Michy Batshuayi and replaced him with striker Alvaro Morata. Chelsea are losing 3-0, down to 10 men and their Italian manager is clearly trying to limit the damage.
More goals in the Championship: Barnsley 1-1 Ipswich Town, Cardiff City 2-0 Aston Villa, Hull City 3-1 Burton Albion.
Save! Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Jonas Loessl has just pulled off a splendid save to deny Christian Benteke at Selhurst Park, where Huddersfield Town’s two-goal lead remains intact.
More goals in the Championship: Sheffield Wednesday equalise against QPR, with Sam Winnall restoring parity after 49 minutes. At the New Den, George Saville has given Millwall the lead against Bolton Wanderers

Hats off to Yeovil: Having lost 8-2 against Luton in their season opener last weekend, the League Two side have bounced back well and lead Accrington Stanley 3-1 at half-time courtesy of three first-half goals in 13 minutes.

Three rat-a-tat goals at Griffin Park: Having gone a goal down against Brentford in the Championship, Nottingham Forest now lead the Bees 2-1.
GOAL! Chelsea 0-3 Burnley (Vokes 43)
No, really. Sam Vokes gives David Luiz the slip to head Burnley into a 3-0 lead against shambolic Chelsea, who are down to 10 men. They’ll do very well indeed to turn this one around.
Updated
GOAL! Chelsea 0-2 Burnley (Ward 39)
Burnley double their lead against the 10-man champions. Stephen Ward volleys a wonderful shot past Thibaut Courtois to give Burnley a 2-0 lead!!!

Burton Albion equalise: It’s all square between Nigel Clough’s side and Hull City, with Jackson Irvine levelling affairs at the Kcom Stadium. GOAL! Crystal Palace 0-2 Huddersfield (Mounie 26)
Huddersfield’s new striker Steve Mounie opens his account for the newly promoted side, who have stunned the crowd at Selhurst Park. He leapt highest to send a header past Wayne Hennessy in the Palace goal.
26' GOAL #cpfc 0-2 #htafc: Steve Mounie rises highest to head Aaron Mooy's cross past Hennessey from five yards out. What a start. (AT)

GOAL! Crystal Palace 0-1 Huddersfield Town (Ward 24og)
The Premier League new boys take the lead in their first top flight match since the early seventies. Joel Ward does the honours, scoring into his own net.
Updated
GOAL! Chelsea 0-1 Burnley (Vokes 24)
Sam Vokes steers a shot past Thibaut Courtois, who gets a hand to the Burnley striker’s effort but can’t keep it out. Ten-man Chelsea are a goal down to Burnley at home.
Updated
Back at Stamford Bridge: Spare a thought for 20-year-old Jeremie Boga, who was making his debut for Chelsea today but has been taken off to make way for Danish defender Andreas Christensen in the wake of Gary Cahill’s sending off.
Another goal in Scotland: Michael O’Halloran has just put St Johnstone 2-0 up against Motherwell.
Another goal in the Championship: Barnsley lead Ipswich Town 1-0, with Tom Bradshaw getting the goal after 16 minutes.

1' barely 30 seconds on the clock and Kalas is shown a red card for being the last man and bringing down the Reading attacker #FFC
— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) August 12, 2017
A very early sending off and an early goal! Bobby Reid has scored for Bristol City in their match against Birmingham at St Andrews. Meanwhile at the Madekski Stadium, Fulham’s Tomas Kalas has been sent off after just 31 seconds in his team’s match against Fulham. Thirty-one seconds!!!
Kick-off is just moments away ...
The whistles for our 3pm kick-offs are about to be blown all around the country. Who’ll get the first goal? I’ll go for Brentford’s Lasse Vibe in his team’s Championship match against Nottingham Forest.
My accumulator for today's action ...
- West Brom v Bournemouth to have less than three goals.
- Huddersfield to beat Palace
- Everton to beat Stoke
- Hull to beat Burton Albion
- Wolves to beat Derby County
That’s about 70-1, I think ... probably with good reason. I’m more hopeful than confident that Huddersfield can do a job for me.
An email from Woolie Madden
“That Chelsea team very much has a League Cup feel to it, especially the bench,” muses Woolie. “What chance a Burnley upset, I wonder?”
No chance whatsoever if they carry last season’s away form into the new campaign, is my humble opinion. But you never know.
Some interesting selections ...
Just a few that catch the eye as I cast my eye over the assorted team selections: Michy Batshuayi starts up front for Chelsea, while new signing Alvaro Morata is on the bench. Jordan Pickford and Asmir Begovic start in goal for Bournemouth and Everton respectively, with Maarten Stekelenburg and Artur Boruc consigned to the bench. Meanwhile at Selhurst Park, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jaïro Riedewald make their Premier League debuts for Crystal Palace.

Full time at Vicarage Road: Watford 3-3 Liverpool
Peep! Peep! Peeeeeeep! It’s all over at Vicarage Road, where it’s ended all square. We’ve had 13 goals from our opening two games of the Premier League season where the early indications seem to be that you can spend all the money in the world on whatever players you like, but if you can’t do simple things like drill them on how to defend set-pieces then you might as well keep your few bob in your pocket.
GOAL! Watford 3-3 Liverpool (Britos 90+4)
Richarlison may claim it, but Miguel Britos seems to have got the final touch with his forehead from an inch out as Watford scored a late, late equaliser to make it 3-3 between themselves and Liverpool at Vicarage Road. Liverpool have picked up where they left off last season, conceding two goals from corners. Some of their defending has been comically inept. Follow the closing seconds here.

At Vicarage Road ...
Liverpool have come from behind twice to lead Watford 3-2 and there are 22 minutes left in the day’s opener, which is quite the contest. You can follow the conclusion of that match with Rob Smyth.
Meanwhile in Scotland
Rangers v Hibernian at Ibrox is the stand-out fixture in this afternoon’s Scottish top flight schedule.
And the rest ...
League One: Blackburn v Doncaster, Blackpool v MK Dons, Bristol Rovers v Peterborough, Gillingham v Bradford City, Northampton v Fleetwood, Oxford United v Portsmouth, Plymouth v Charlton, Rochdale v Scunthorpe, Rotherham v Southend, Walsall v Oldham, Wimbledon v Shrewsbury.
League Two: Barnet v Luton, Cambridge v Carlisle, Cheltenham v Crawley, Colchester v Stevenage, Crewe v Newport, Grimsby v Coventry, Lincoln v Morecambe, Mansfield v Forest Green, Notts County v Chesterfield, Port Vale v Wycombe, Swindon v Exeter, Yeovil v Accrington.
Today's Championship fixtures
It’s the second round of fixtures in the second tier, which kicked off last weekend. THere aren’t too many stand-out fixtures – Norwich City v Sunderland isn’t until tomorrow – but I like the look of Reading v Fulham and Middlesbrough v Sheffield United. Having spent more than £50m over the summer only to see his Middlebrough team lose their opening match against Wolves, Garry Monk needs a win to ease those early season jitters.
