Everton use 'hidden route' as Arsenal fans gather in thousands for European Super League protest

Thousands of Arsenal fans are staging a protest outside of the Emirates Stadium ahead of tonight's game with Everton.

The Gunners' supporters are calling for owner Stan Kroenke to sell the club after Arsenal were one of the six Premier League sides who had signed up for the European Super League.

The protest has attracted a small police presence and it has been suggested that Everton arrived at the ground earlier than normal to avoid their team bus being delayed entering the ground.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford did confirm, though, that an alternative route was used, saying: "We came in a hidden route. It didn't impact us.”

Protesters were urged to gather from around 6pm.

Angry Arsenal fans are congregated outside the main entrance of the Emirates Stadium and as well as chanting for Kroenke to leave the club, they are holding up protest banners and fares are being used.
