Two of Everton's new signings were in action on the opening day of the Premier League season as Rafael Benitez recorded his first competitive win in charge of the team.
Both Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray impressed for the Toffees as Southampton suffered a 3-1 defeat at Goodison Park.

As the ECHO has previously reported, Benitez has an interest in bringing Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff to Goodison Park.
The Blues' boss gave the 23-year-old his senior debut at Newcastle and is keen on reuniting with the English midfielder.
Longstaff is out of contract next summer and the Magpies are keen to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
As a result, the Magpies have reportedly placed a £10m price tag on Longstaff amid interest from Everton and Southampton.

According to Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, Everton could make an offer for Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne.
The Blues continue to be linked with the 30-year-old, who is out of contract next summer in Naples.
Benitez previously worked with the Italy international and could use this to his advantage in a potential deal.
Veneratro has provided an update on the situation as it stands, stating: "Inter enquired for both Insigne and Correa from Lazio. At the moment, the evaluation that Napoli makes of him settles at €30m. Everton could formulate an offer for Insigne.”

Fiorentina are weighing up the possibility of signing Everton striker Moise Kean on loan in the final weeks of the transfer window.
According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A side could make their move for the 21-year-old as uncertainty grows surrounding his future.
Fiorentina are currently battling to hold onto Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has been strongly linked to a number of top European clubs this summer.
Should he exit the club, this could influence any kind of pursuit for Kean.
