Everton transfers - James Rodriguez 'fast' exit and Jorge Sanchez move

After making their first three signings of the Rafa Benitez era two weeks ago, Everton's fans are now waiting for more update on the club's transfer business.

Demarai Gray, Andros Townsend and Asmir Begovic all joined the club earlier this month as the Blues kicked off their pre-season campaign in Florida.

Everton start their Premier League campaign at home to Southampton a week on Saturday and the rumour mill continues to churn plenty of speculation out.

As a result, Benitez's side are being linked with plenty of stars now that the summer window has arrived, but who else can we expect to see at Goodison Park?

We take a look at the latest gossip from around the globe and rate how likely they are to happen.

Who?

James Rodriguez.

Where?

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha via Sport Witness.

What?

According to the report, Porto are trying to get a deal done for Rodriguez 'as fast as possible'.

The outlet says the Dragons are 'already working on the process', trying to conclude it ‘as fast as possible’, as agent Jorge Mendes could have a 'decisive role' in the operation.

As reported by the ECHO last week, Rodriguez has been informed that he doesn't feature in Rafa Benitez's plans this season and he is free to leave, should the right offer be tabled.

Who?

PSV Eindhoven right-back Denzel Dumfries.

Where?

Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness.

What?

According to the report, Everton have withdrawn from the race to sign Dumfries this summer.

The report goes on to claim that the Blues 'withdrawn from the race' to sign Dumfries, especially after the player asked his agent, Mino Raiola, to favour a move to Inter because their interest 'obviously stimulates him'.

The article states: "Whether Everton have pulled out for good or just temporarily while they find the funds to sign him remains to be seen, but the feeling in Italy is that Inter have a clearer path to his signing for now."

Who?

Mexico international Jorge Sanchez.

Where?

Football Insider.

What?

Everton, according to the report, have set their sights on signing Sanchez this summer.

The right-back has impressed for his country at the Olympics and played a key role in their march to the semi-finals.

The report claims an Everton source has told them that the club are keeping close tabs on Sanchez and are weighing up a move.

However, the article states the Blues face competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham for the Club America star.
